冬至Dongzhi-
The traditional East Asian calendars divide a year into 24 solar.,Dongzhi is winter’s extreme,literally.The term for the winter solstice as midwinter in English.
It usually begins around 21 December,ends around 5 January.
In Old days,Dongzhi was originally celebrated as an end-of-harvest festival.
Today,it is a family reunion over the long night.When pink & white tangyuan(sticky rice dumplings)are eaten in sweet broth to symbolise family unity & prosperity.
